Malton Mavericks Athletics Mission Statement Building Leaders Through Sport Live, Play, Work, Connect
Here, respect is our foundation: respect for ourselves, our brothers and sisters, and our community. Every decision we make isn’t just about the game—it’s about lifting up our community. If a teammate stumbles, We will all be there to help him rise because his/her success is all of ours too. Our victories aren’t just about trophies; they are about the lessons learned on the journey.
When one of us wins, we all win. We embody sportsmanship—no foul language, no disrespect towards teammates, coaches, opponents, referees, or elders. Bullying, whether in person or online, has no place here—neither within our team nor with our competitors.
We follow the guidance of our coaches and trainers, knowing their wisdom fuels the spirit of our team. And we believe in fairness for all, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their abilities, gets to enjoy the game. Winning will never come at the cost of respect, equality, and dignity.
We recognize that our youngest players need space to grow emotionally, mentally, and physically, and we never place unrealistic expectations on their shoulders. More than just athletes, we are agents of positive change, making our community a better place through the causes we support.
We are MAVERICKS, united in purpose and pride!
By choosing to be a Malton Maverick, I pledge to honor these values. If I fail to uphold them, I accept the consequences, including being removed from the team.
“Success in the NHL isn’t just about talent—it’s about putting in the work when no one’s watching, bouncing back from tough losses, and always finding a way to get better. You have to love the grind as much as the game itself.” — Future NHL Star
